“My customers include media personalities, celebrities, brides preparing for their big day, right through to women and girls who love to have their hair cut and coloured or their makeup done for a special occasion.”
The Albert Park salon also offers workshops designed to instil confidence in women when they apply mak-up by teaching them how to use their products. Clients bring their own makeup bags, and are taught how to use their products and what works best so they don’t waste money on things they don’t need.
“I want clients to feel they can experiment and play in my ‘salon’. There is so much makeup in the market and everyone says ‘I have so much makeup and I don’t have a clue how to use it’. My aim is to help them cut through all that so they only buy what they need and know how to use it well. It shouldn’t be complicated.”
An experienced stylist, Antoinette has worked in the hair and makeup industry for more than two decades. She has an extensive portfolio in film, theatre, fashion, music, print, commercials and television, including 10 years at the Ten Network, where she was pivotal in creating the “look” of personalities with shows such as The Circle, The Panel, Before the Game, Good Morning Australia, Melbourne and Adelaide News, Bolt Report and The Project. Antoinette worked as Bert Newton’s personal make-up artist for three years, looked after international celebrities and coordinated hair and make-up for major events, including the network’s AFL coverage, the Logie Awards and Commonwealth Games coverage. She is still working in the industry and has been looking after ‘The Weekly with Charlie Pickering’. Antoinette has now built a team of hair and make-up artists that are in demand for their services with high profile clients at various Melbourne events
“My clients can tap into this experience and pick my brain on anything relating to makeup and hair and feel comfortable in knowing that it will be an honest opinion.”
