Antoinette Bekos has worked in the hair and makeup industry for more than two decades. She has an expansive portfolio of work to her name, in the areas of theatre, fashion, music, print media, commercials and television.
In 2002, Antoinette was appointed head of the Ten Network’s Hair and Makeup Department, a position that she held for ten years until 2012. During her time at the Ten Network, Antoinette played a pivotal role in the ‘look” of several on-air personalities including Logie-Award winning programs The Circle and The Project. Antoinette was Bert Newton’s personal make-up artist for three years when he headed the network’s flagship morning show, Good Morning Australia.
She has also looked after big name celebrities from Australia and overseas as well as coordinated many special event productions, including the network’s extensive AFL coverage, The Logies, Brownlow, Grand Prix, Melbourne Cup and The Commonwealth Games.
Antoinette now works at the ABC and looks after clients in fashion like Myer, Swisse, Caufield Racing Club, Romano Beck, Crown and Rolex to name a few. She is also fulfilling other avenues, passions and interests.
She has a fortnightly column in The Domain called ‘The Look’ where she discusses all things hair and makeup. Writing has been a passion for so long and loves to give her clients and audience the truth about hair and makeup and how to achieve looks or buy products in an realistic truthful way. She feels there is to much out there that isn’t authentic and genuine so people are overwhelmed when it comes to looking after themselves.
Antoinette shares her knowledge with workshops for females wanting to know how to do their own makeup and hair especially in corporate. Most brides and celebrities often call upon her for their big day or event.
